Crafts and slime

Fluffy cloud slime

Soft, puffy and weirdly satisfying to squish. It takes 15 minutes to make and keeps them busy for an hour.

What you need

Adult supervision needed. Not for children who still put things in their mouths. Wash hands after playing, and skip it if anyone has sensitive skin.

Let's go

  1. Squeeze all the glue into the bowl and add a few drops of food colouring. Stir until the colour is even.

  2. Sprinkle in the bicarbonate of soda and stir it through.

  3. Add the shaving foam and fold it in gently. It should look like a fluffy mousse.

  4. Add the contact lens solution and stir. Within a minute it will start pulling away from the sides of the bowl.

  5. Tip it out and knead with your hands. If it's still sticky after a minute of kneading, add a few more drops of contact lens solution.

  6. Store it in a sealed tub. It stays fluffy for a day or two, then turns into regular stretchy slime.

Real talk

  • Do it on a wipe-clean surface or a tray. Slime finds carpet like a heat-seeking missile.
  • Too sticky? Add contact lens solution a few drops at a time. Too much makes it rubbery, and there's no going back.
  • Slime on clothes comes out with white vinegar and a good soak.
